Preheat your grill or stovetop pan to medium-high heat.
In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
Add cooked quinoa, chopped cilantro, diced onion, minced garlic, cumin, and smoked paprika to the mashed beans. Mix well.
Shape the mixture into patties, about 1 inch thick.
Brush the patties lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Grill the patties on each side for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and heated through.
While the patties are cooking, prepare the avocado salsa by combining diced avocado, lime juice, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on the whole grain bun, topped with a spoonful of avocado salsa, a slice of tomato, and lettuce. Serve immediately.
